Shaw Treatment Review + GIVEAWAY ! - CLOSED

Thursday, January 6, 2011

I have the opportunity to try a variety of products from Shaw Treatment, and when the package finally arrived a couple of days ago I was so happy and couldn't wait to try it. The reviews on other blogs make me very curious and wants to try it myself. Their website also very user-friendly and I love what I see and read on the website.

Shaw Treatment is a company who offer great body care products while helping to make the world a better place. For any Shaw Treatment product that you buy they will donate over 25% of the sale to a charity working on grass-roots community projects in Africa. And you could choose which charity focus you want to support from several options they listed at their website.
That is one major commitment and I always have the most respect for companies like this.

They also have a great "No risk 365 Day Guarantee" policy, so if you're not satisfied you can keep the bottle and get all your money back >> which I highly doubt because I'm sure you will love it ;)

Other thing that I love about this company is the fact that they use natural and organic ingredients for their products. They blend it with science to make products that is safe for our skin , even for the most sensitive ones.

They also supports Ethical Trade, Vegan (do not contain any animal by-products and have not been tested on animals), and every bottle and container is Recyclable and Biodegradable. >> SUPER AWESOME!

And now for the review,
I received their JET SET - SWAHILI COAST Sampler Travel Set:
It includes four 2oz. bottles of :
Body Lotion, Face & Body Cleanser, Volumizing Shampoo & Conditioner.

This is like sampling the most popular products from Shaw treatment all at once! And I didn't waste any time to try them out. I took a bath that afternoon with the Swahili Coast Face & Body Cleanser, wash my hair with the Volumizing Shampoo & Conditioner, and put on the Body Lotion afterward. And the first thing I noticed is: the scent. It was HEAVENLY.

Oh I love the scent of the Swahili Coast line.. I can't describe it to you but it's just spellbinding. A little bit like vanilla. Wait, no, I think it was coconut...added with tropical fruit infusion. Yes, that's it! And I just simply love it.

The body cleanser, shampoo & conditioner didn't lather much which what I expect from natural soaps and shampoo. Who needs lather and suds anyway, since most of them are made of chemicals, yikes! I like mine with little to no suds, the less chemicals got in contact with my skin the better ;)

The shampoo & conditioner really do it's job, my hair is volumized and didn't limp at all. But what I love most is the Body Lotion. It smells really great (!) and the scent lingers on my skin for many hours. I love the consistency of the lotion too, it's not greasy and not too liquid-y. My skin absorbs it easily and no residue left >> > L.O.V.E

DO GOOD WHILE YOU SHOP!
Every profit made will be donated by Shaw Treatment to charities supporting relief efforts throughout Africa. They will donate over 25% of the sale to a charity of your choice! (list of charities are on their website)

First Post! (Bandung Quick Trip)

Monday, January 3, 2011

Hola!
We're now entering the year 2011 :)
First of all, I know most of you were probably busy spending your holidays and all, so maybe you all don't have much time to browse internet and participate in giveaways ,therefore hereby I announced that I will be extending the EZ Sox giveaway! Now you have until 10 January to enter the giveaway, click here to enter it now!

Okay, second of all.. I just want to upload some unpublished posts from December. It's about my last trip of 2010. I haven't been gone far during 2010, only to nearby cities such as Bandung, Garut, Puncak, Anyer, Bogor, and.. that's all i could remember right now ;)

One of my 2011 resolution is to be able to get away to more cities and going abroad again, I've been dying to go to USS (Universal Studio Singapore) and Australia. This plans didn't work out on 2010 so I really hope me & hubs can execute the plans some time in 2011 ;)

So anyway, here's a short story of my last travel in 2010..
Me and hubby's family went to Bandung again around 2 weeks ago for a mini getaway. Bandung is only 2 hours drive from Jakarta and it's a mountainous area so it has colder climate than Jakarta. It's nice to go somewhere that has different atmosphere from our busy city.. Day 1 we had dinner at Tizi's, a famous oldie but goodie restaurant, we had bratwurst and oven baked chicken. I used to go to this restaurant when I was still in college, well not very often because the price was a little bit too expensive for college students haha but it's a nice restaurant for a date ;)

Day 2 we went to have lunch at another famous oldie but goodie restaurant, it's a noodle restaurant called "Mie Linggarjati". Aside from the chicken "yamin" noodle menu, the restaurant is also famous for it's avocado juice. The avocado juice is really different from other restaurant, it's nothing like i've ever tasted before, so it's really recommended :)

We went to factory outlets after lunch but we didn't buy anything because the place was so crowded and the prices are actually the same as in the malls so we had our doubts.. But overall, we had a great time (as always.. :D)

Oh there's one thing that i forgot to tell you, we were supposed to be traveling to Belitung on early January but something came up and the plan didn't work out for us (sob..), but we had other subtitute plans to travel to Malang, Surabaya and Madura by early February. So let's hope that one will work out successfully :D

[Imaginary]: Room Decorator

Tuesday, December 21, 2010

I have two imaginary play series in this blog: the Party Planner and the Room Decorator, both are my hobby and passion beside fashion and traveling. In this series I pretend to be either a party planner or an interior designer/decorator. Today I would play a Room Decorator, and here's the scheme:

Client :
Family of 6 :
- Husband & Wife
- 2 Daughters ( 1 teenage & 1 toddler)
- 1 Son (tween age)
- 1 Grandma

Room Requirements :
- at least 3 bathroom (1 en-suite in master bedroom)
- 1 craft room for grandma
- a separate breakfast area
- a sunny living room
- a laundry room

Preferred Style :
Cottage / Country style for public area and master bedroom
Girly Chic for the teenage daughter's room
Dreamy for the little kids rooms
--------------------------------------------------------

And here are my suggestions...

FIRST FLOOR
The sunny living room:
myhomeideas

 Kitchen at the back area:
pointclickhome
And a separate breakfast area right beside the kitchen counter:
potterybarn
And the Dining Area at the opposite side of the kitchen/breakfast area:
housetohome.co.uk

The Teenage daughter's bedroom:
Teenage Daughter's Bathroom (this is also a guest bathroom):
countryliving

Grandma's craft room, right next to the above bathroom:

UPSTAIRS
The Master bedroom:
...with en-suite bathroom:

The Tween Boy's bedroom:

and the toddler daughter's bedroom:

The little kids shared bathroom:

BASEMENT:
Grandma's Bedroom:
Grandma's tiny bathroom:

The Laundry Room right next to the tiny bathroom:

And my work as an interior decorator is done! All the client's requests are fulfilled and they're happy with my work (or at least this is what happened in my imagination ;p).
And that's the end of our game, i hope you enjoy playing with me ^o^

Restaurant Review: MARCHE

Tuesday, December 14, 2010

Last week me and hubs were having dinner at Marche at Plaza Senayan, it's been one of my favorite restaurant since I went there the first time ^o^ I love it's ambience because it's a themed restaurant. It has a very detailed decoration that makes us feel like we were in a European village's market/farm/scenery, well actually it's Switzerland scenery to be exact, complete with Heidi corner! Ha!
The scenery include a 500 year old chalet, a Switzerland ski-lift cabin and many other decorative things that were brought originally from Switzerland!

Since I basically love decoration so I always find myself amused with themed places such as themed restaurant, themed hotel, etc.. Like that one time when I was visiting Genting highland in Malaysia, the place was like a magic tour to me, it was fully decorated with fun details, complete with indoor theme parks and decorative details in every nooks and cranny. That's what I loved, an attention to details! And Marche is just like that, the decoration detail fills every corner, even on those corners where you probably won't notice.

There are several food stalls inside the restaurant that are decorated like a village market stall. We would be given a card at the entrance which we will then use to "order" food & drinks from the stalls. We can browse the stalls and choose which food we want to eat, then we give the card to the person attending the stall so that our card can be stamped. And then when we finished eating, we would give the stamped card to the cashier and they will sums up the fees based on the stamps and we can pay the totals. Don't worry, the food & drinks price are on every stalls so you won't get blindly cheated ^o^ The price range from medium affordable (say.. IDR 35k - 45k for chicken and pizza) to IDR 65k - 90k and up for other food such as seafood or rosti with side dish. The food were excellent and the ingredients are all fresh!

My favorite stall is the bakery/pastry stall near the entrance, because it has a very strong "market" feels, I feel like I'm in a local European market, picking breads and sweets to bring back to my hotel ^o^
There are many dining area that you can freely choose. I love the cabin and log style dining area, it feels very original. You can also take your seat inside the ski-lift! There's also a huge screen that depicts a non-stop movie about Switzerland scenery (which is breathtaking, by the way). Oh and there's a "waterfall" at the corner near the bathroom! And the bathroom itself is fully decorated, feels like you're in snow ski cabin. There's also a changing pad for babies inside the bathroom, thumbs up for that (although I also saw a tiny little bug inside the cubicle, whoops!).

This time we chose to sit at the "dairy farm wooden cabin", complete with big cow head and cow printed pillowcases! As a cow print lover I could just die there because a lot of the items are all cow-printed or cow-shaped which were so friggin cute!

a cow! right beside our table's wall! :D
It feels like we were dining in a farmer's cabin in the green mountain of Switzerland where they shoot the Sound Of Music! Haha okay, I imagine too much... ;p But every time i dine there I always feel like I'm not in Plaza Senayan anymore ;p Hubs loved it too!

Oh I also went to another themed restaurant called Nanny's Pavilion where the decorative theme is around a "bathroom/powder room". If you're curious you can check it in my fashion blog here. There's also a giveaway currently going on there ^__^
