Apt Project: Floor Plan

Tuesday, October 18, 2011

Just found out about this website from my brother in law where you could make your own floor planner virtually. You know what floor planner are, right? It's a picture with the whole floorplan layout of a house / building. All the architects and interior designer must have a floor plan to help them build and/or design the rooms in the building. Well this website called floorplanner.com is simply about that. You could make layout plan of your dream home or if you already have a blank floor plan of your house then you could put furniture in it, you know...just to see whether things would fit or where the bed position should be, etc, etc...

Since I already have the basic floor plan including the rough size of each room of our future apartment so I re-create the apartment floor plan on the floorplanner website and then filled the rooms with stuffs that we're planning to put into the apt, and I loved the result (look at me, i'm loving my own creation, I'm such a dork). Here is the plan for our future "mini" apt that I made:

The small white area beside the bathroom above is the small terrace that we are so fortunate to have (I just love high-floored rooms with terraces!), and the dining room is behind the bathroom right next to the long kitchen that has a clear glass window in the end which leads to the terrace.

I showed this to my husband as a surprise, and he loved it!! Yayness! So with both sides agree to this floor plan I think this is gonna be our "almost final" layout, we still have doubts with the dining table option though, we either would go with this setting or we would go with a square table with 3 or 4 chairs.

The office room at the right bottom corner would double as my wardrobe area, but in our last discussion we change our mind and decided to move my working / office area into the bedroom and put the old office room into a full wardrobe area instead (wink ;p).

So if you're planning to move out to a new place or if you're getting a house or if you just love decorating or creating your perfect dream home then this website is a good place to start. You could see your floor plan in 2D and 3D ! Free membership allows you to create up to 6 rooms while paid membership would allow you more advantages for sure ;)

Easy Recipes To Try

Saturday, July 9, 2011

One of my favorite website to look for food / cooking ideas is The Pioneer Woman. Bree Drummond, the owner of the website a.k.a The Pioneer Woman has a very interesting website. I love the way she writes and jokes, and I love her website layout too, very woman-friendly ^o^ And the number one reason why I love to browse her website for cooking ideas is because she has a page of recipes where she included detailed step-by-step photos of the cooking process in every recipes!!

She made it really easy to follow her recipes. She wrote the recipe detail very clearly and the step-by-step pictures are really useful for beginner cook like me. And for that, Bree.. We love you! ^o^

Her website also covers Photography which is her other hobby beside cooking. She offers photography techniques that you can read on her Photography page. She also writes about her family and her domestic life in the ranch. Her website is so full of stories, you'll love it And you'll love her too!

I compiled three easy peasy simple recipes that I want to try for my cooking project:

Recipes:
   Fresh Corn Casserole
Fatty's Grandma Cheez Egg

If you have other food/cooking blogs that you love and you'd like to share, please tell us in the comment box. I would love to visit them too :D

Have a great week, everyone!

Old (or new?) royal paintings

Sunday, January 23, 2011

Hello, have you guys entered my currently running giveaways of EcoSmart (US) and Orient Watch (US) and Shaw Treatment (WORLDWIDE - and this one will ends tomorrow). Better hurry up ^o^

So anyway, one of my interest is history and anything related with it (maybe that's why i love vintage because vintage means history or something from the past, right? ;p). Well, speaking of history-related things, one of my hobby is to look at paintings of the royals, you know... such paintings as of Marie Antoinette, Duchess of Devonshire, etc..
I don't know why but old royal paintings always gave me the thrills, i love to imagine what their real faces looked like, what the clothes they were wearing in the paintings looks like in real life, and what life did they have back then, et cetera.. et cetera... ^o^

I wish there's a time machine for that.

But since there's no time machine, we can still play with time. These genius amateur artists shows us (at least) a glimpse of what would our generation be like if we were living in the past ;)

Can you guess who they are?
Yes, they're our beloved Hollywood celebrities! -- the artists turned their pictures to look like they were living in the past times. Fabulous isn't it? I found these through a photo effect contest at Worth1000. If you like these arts then you should go visit the website where there are many others like these that's worth to praise.
And don't forget to browse around while you're there because there are lots of other artsy photo galleries that can wow you too.

I wish i could have someone draw or make my picture to look like one of the above. If any of you would do it for me I would be forever grateful and i would cherish and say your name 100 times a day. Bless you.

Enjoy!

Site-walker: Olioboard

Monday, October 4, 2010

After finding Polyvore and then Looklet that satisfy my inner stylist-wannabe (^o^), now I found another similar one called Olioboard which is like polyvore but for room design! After trying it on for several hours, hands down this is what I've been looking for all this time, now I can satisfy my inner interior-decorator-wannabe hahaha

It was easy instruction from the start, especially if you're used to polyvore. The array of items are quite satisfying, it has a huge library of interior design related images, neatly organized by category. It's basically meant for making mood boards (digital mood boards), it's also a community where interior designers and creative thinkers gather to share inspiration and offer feedback to each other's mood boards. It's such a coincidence because I was writing a post about mood boards the other day at my fashion blog, and now I found this Olioboard and it's juts like a dream come true. Since I'm not an interior designer so I don't use it to make mood boards, instead I used it to make imaginary rooms, you know me and my big imagination ;)

Anyway you can make either a mood board or an imaginary room like me, here's some example of my imaginary Porch, Foyer and Living Room ^o^

front porch
my imaginary porch

foyer
my imaginary foyer

Living Room
my imaginary living room

Next project: my imaginary family room, dining room, bedroom, etc. I'm planning to create a full house interior, check back soon :P meanwhile, how do you like my design?

Now I don't want to show you my "black n white cow prints collection" because I don't have that many to show off ;) so I think I'll just share what I found on etsy instead..

What Your Name Says About You

Tuesday, July 28, 2009

Ever wonder what your name says about you? Well, sometimes I do. I'm always interested in this kind of thing, I think of it as another way to understanding myself. And sometimes it's amazing to know that a name could actually relate to the person's personality.

I've been browsing here and there and finally stumbled upon this name generator at blogthings. I love the website itself, blogthings really offers us many options of fun self-entertainment such as fun quizzes, astrology reading and other fun and absurd things such as "what's your name in Hawaiian", etc..

I tried the name generator and it came out quite true, after reading the result I could actually relate it to my own personality ^o^

Here is what my name means :

You Are Wild and Outrageous
You are a free spirit, and you resent anyone who tries to fence you in. You are unpredictable, adventurous, and always a little surprising. You may miss out by not settling down, but you're too busy having fun to care.
You are a very lucky person. Things just always seem to go your way. And because you're so lucky, you don't really have a lot of worries. You just hope for the best in life. You're sometimes a little guilty of being greedy. Spread your luck around a little to people who need it.
You are wild, crazy, and a huge rebel. You're always up to something. You have a ton of energy, and most people can't handle you. You're very intense. You definitely are a handful, and you're likely to get in trouble. But your kind of trouble is a lot of fun. You tend to be pretty tightly wound. It's easy to get you excited... which can be a good or bad thing. You have a lot of enthusiasm, but it fades rather quickly. You don't stick with any one thing for very long. You have the drive to accomplish a lot in a short amount of time. Your biggest problem is making sure you finish the projects you start. You are a seeker of knowledge, and you have learned many things in your life. You are also a keeper of knowledge - meaning you don't spill secrets or spread gossip. People sometimes think you're snobby or aloof, but you're just too deep in thought to pay attention to them. You are the total package - suave, sexy, smart, and strong. You have the whole world under your spell, and you can influence almost everyone you know. You don't always resist your urges to crush the weak. Just remember, they don't have as much going for them as you do. You are a seeker. You often find yourself restless - and you have a lot of questions about life. You tend to travel often, to fairly random locations. You're most comfortable when you're far away from home. You are quite passionate and easily tempted. Your impulses sometimes get you into trouble. You are usually the best at everything ... you strive for perfection. You are confident, authoritative, and aggressive. You have the classic "Type A" personality. You are very intuitive and wise. You understand the world better than most people. You also have a very active imagination. You often get carried away with your thoughts. You are prone to a little paranoia and jealousy. You sometimes go overboard in interpreting signals.

And now it's your turn to try the name generator and find out what your name says about you ^o^ Click here and Have Fun!

And here's another FUN site to kill your time.
And another one for Indonesian users, since this post is in bahasa.

Monday, June 8, 2009

While browsing I found a website of this really great illustrator who does amazing works of arts. I love her style, she could be one of my favorite illustrator ^__^
Her name is Silvia Portella, her age is the same as me (but her works are beyond my achievement ^o^). She's originally from Spain but now lives in Berlin, Germany. She has worked with some German companies and media as well as for companies around the globe.
And she can speak 5 languages! Is she a genius or what? ^^

I fell in love with her works and decided to post about her to make her works more globally known. I hope she's not mad that i took her illustrations and put them here as an example of how great her works are ^o^

Well, here are some of her works..
Enjoy..

And here's her website link:

I really admire her - she's amazing! ^^

SITE-WALKER: What would you look like in the 50s?

Thursday, March 19, 2009

If I'm bored I browse.
Google has made it much more easier to browse about anything.
Usually my other resources for good links is my friend Epi (aka Epot). She always stumble on some interesting links (one of 'em is the scrapblog link -see previous post- that I got from her).

Browsing the internet is like browsing to find something new, you'll never know what you're gonna get ^__^

One of my favorite link is http://www.yearbookyourself.com

When I found out about it 2 months ago me and my hubby had a lot of fun playing with the image adjuster at the site.
As you probably have guessed from the address the website is where you can morph your photo into an old yearbook photo, complete with different styles for different eras.
It's a really fun way to spend some times when you got nothing else to do.

These are what me and my hubby would look like if we were living the old time era, from the 50s through the 80s (there's even a photo where my hubby pictured like he was fat! LOL. I'm so not gonna let him eat all the time and be fat from now on ^o^).

Please honey, promise me you won't be fat like this ya?! ^o^
