Snacks Of The Week !

Monday, February 10, 2014

I love to try anything new, including new food and of course new snacks or drinks. This week's favorite is this new snack I've been trying on which is called "Cake O" from Khong Guan. I'm not sure if there are other variants of this Cake O but I got the Black variant which is a chocolate biscuit with chocolate cream filling.

You can get this in the supermarket as I got mine in Carrefour. Khong Guan always make yummy biscuits and this one surely doesn't disappoints. As a chocolate lover this biscuit got a praise from me because they are delicious and yummy for my tummy ;p

I forgot how many biscuits are there inside the packet because I munched on them immediately without stopping (;p) so I forgot to count how many were there in the packet. But inside this packet the biscuit were wrapped individually as you'll see in the photo below:

It says "K" in the middle of the biscuit so hubby K was very excited with them ;) Anyway, the chocolate biscuit is good and the chocolate cream filling is also very nice. Overall this is a very nice snack and I would definitely buy loads of these again ;)

I don't recall the exact price but this was pretty cheap and affordable. I'm not sure about the availability but I got this in the bigger Carrefour supermarket.

I usually would only feature my favorite snacks or drinks here but this time I want to give a mini review on this Indocafe White instant coffee too. As you know, I am an avid coffee drinker (but not for black coffee, only the milky/creamed coffee ones). I also love to try new instant coffee that I haven't tried before, and this Indocafe White is one of them.

I won't go into much details here but all I know is that I don't like it. It's a white coffee with no sugar added (so you'll have to add sugar if you like it sweet). It may be great for others, but for me it is quite weak for my taste, and the texture is also quite light and not "thick" enough for a white coffee. So I won't be repurchasing this in the future (although some of you might like it) ^o^

Home Decor Inspirations : House Beautiful Style 101 Book

Wednesday, February 5, 2014

I have always loved home decoration or interior books since I was a little kid. My dad is an architect who pursued a career in interior designer, so there were a lot of interior design books as well as home decor magazines in his office at home. I used to climb the tall book rack in my dad's office room to picked up some magazines and bring them to my bed.

When I was a kid, those magazines are my bedtime stories ;p I love to flip over the pages on my bed before I go to sleep. I let my imagination fly away until I finally fell asleep. Unlike other little girls who dreamed about their perfect wedding day since they were a kid, I dreamed of my perfect house since I was a kid.
Yes, I was a weird kid ^o^

Nowadays I don't get to see a lot of interior magazines anymore because everything is digital now. I can easily browse the internet for decorating inspirations on my laptop or through my ipad before I go to sleep. But when I saw this little bundle of decor inspiration book by House Beautiful, I couldn't help myself.

I wanted to buy it and have it on my hands. When I first found this book, it was the first weeks after we heard the news that our unit is almost ready. So I was looking for inspirations to decorate our tiny unit. I decided to grabbed this book because:

(a). It was on discount and the final price was very tempting,
(b). It was from the popular home decor magazine House Beautiful which I remember was one of my favorite magazine from my dad's book rack,
(c). I think the book would also look pretty for a coffee table book ;)

I got this book from my favorite online book store which is The Book Depository. If you didn't know about them yet, then you're surely missing out. They have a very wide selections of books (and a few stationaries too), and they ship worldwide! (say what?!) Yes. Books >> Free Shipping >> Worldwide.
'Nuff said.

I love love love the book because it was packed full with colorful pages and inspirations for home decoration. The book also defined several styles of home decorating, complete with a personal quiz at the beginning of the book, to let you know which of the decorative style you fall into. Very useful especially if you're a newbie or if you just recently into interior designing and didn't really know which style you are into ;p

According to the book, I am between "Glam" and "Accessorator", while hubby K was "Traditional with A Twist". A totally opposite decorating style, right? So you can imagine how we clashed in most of our decorating discussion, LOL. But in the end, I was able to convinced him that I know what I'm doing because it's all been in my head since I was a little kid ;p

This is a nice book and if you love home decor or if you're looking for inspirations on how to decorate your house, then this might be a book to read. The book is actually pretty small (about the size of ipad mini) but it has hard cover and it has medium-thick pages which were full with colorful inspiring photos of gorgeous decors of real rooms. You can also took the quiz to know your home decorating style (which is an interesting fact to know).

Do you know similar books like this that would be worthy to buy?
Please kindly lemme know so I can check on it too :)

Apt Project: Update!

Tuesday, January 28, 2014

Yah, paling cuma tinggal mindahin the last bit of furnitures which is our big spring bed dan mungkin sepasang meja kayu lungsuran dari ortu ;) Selebihnya tinggal ngangkut baju-baju (yang segunung), aksesoris seperti tas-sepatu-perhiasan (yang segudang), dan perlengkapan makeup (yang bertumpuk-tumpuk). Heddeehhh.... PR banget deh nih bakalan huhuhu..

Dan ini hasilnya when it goes live on the wall!

Another corner of the living room:

Kenapa nggak dilapis lagi sih sama developernya? Kalo saya pikir sih ya mungkin itu dia kenapa harganya nggak semahal apartemen lain. Kalau pake dilapis plafon ya harganya jadi ikut naik dong? Kalau lantainya dari  keramik ya harganya pasti nggak mungkin murah dong? et cetera et cetera... hehe

Kaya gini nih awalnya:

Nggak mungkin nggak dipasang / dilapis plafon lagi kan? Kecuali kalo emang suka gaya industrial yah.

Nah, sekian dulu yah update nya. Nanti kapan-kapan saya sambung lagi dengan update phase 2 ;)

Snacks of The Week !

Friday, January 24, 2014

I love trying out new things, from trying out new restaurants, new places, new beauty products, and also trying out different snacks / beverages that are available on the supermarket racks. If you see my monthly grocery store bags you would find various snacks inside it ;p

So I decided to make a new blog series which is the "Snacks of The Week" - which would feature my current favorite snacks, or snacks that I currently eat and loved.

To kick-start the series, here I'm featuring some snacks that I bought a while ago. These feature two favorite snacks and one vintage candy ;p

I love marshmallows and when I found these two super cute marshmallows on Total Fruit Market I immediately put them in my cart. They were already certified as "Halal" food too ;)

I got the Fluffy Jelly Marshmallows which is a sweetly pastel colored twirled marshmallows which tastes as sweet as the appearance. Love this! The other one I got is the Teddy Marshmallows which has a shape of a super cute teddy bears! How can you resist it? ;p

I already ate almost all of the teddy marshmallows before I took this photo, so that's why I only feature the close-up photo of the Fluffy Jelly ones ;p I also like to put the teddy marshmallows which has chocolate-y taste into my hot chocolate drink.

Last but not least, I would like to feature this vintage hard candy which I found in a store that sells vintage snacks. It's the cigarette hard candy from the old times! If you're a 90s kid who lives in Indonesia, you will remember these cigarette candies (and also cigarette chocolates) back in the heydays. I don't really fancy the cigarette candies (I always prefer chocolates than candies ;p) but I still bought this for nostalgic purpose only ^o^

This is actually just a regular mint hard candy (which translated to "permen keras"), in a shape of Indonesian local cigarette brand. I originally didn't want to consume this candy because I just want it to be part of a decorative items, but then I thought it's bad to not consume it because then you are wasting away food, so I finally caved in and gave this to hubby K to be consumed.

What are your current favorite snacks? Do let me know..
