Stress Relief and Peppermint lipbalm from Aromatic Health (+ Giveaway!)

Wednesday, May 19, 2010

After waiting for a few weeks finally the package from Aromatic Health is here!! I'm so excited to try these two simple but very useful items: a Peppermint lip balm (cos I'm a lip balm sucker) and a Stress Relief roll on oil (because I easily got stressed).

Aromatic Health is a Canadian based online store where you could find clinical aromatherapy & products for health & wellness, pre/postpartum healing, baby & skin care. I love the fact that their products are handmade, and they only use pure and organic essential oils and raw ingredients. What's not to love about that? Now here's my 2 new essential items:

I like the look of the products, the comforting soft green color and the professional looking label. But what I love most is the product itself, especially the Stress Relief. This Stress Relief roll-on gave me the result I wanted.

My doctor always said that I stressed a lot. I think about a lot of things and that made me stress either I realize it or not. And that's bad for my health. That's why I quit my office work a couple of years ago because my health is deteriorating due to high stress.

And psstt... this is only between me and you, sometimes I have anxiety attack. It started a few months back but I don't know what causes it. It would start with my feet getting cold and then I started freaking out and stressed out and then my heart beats really fast. I even went to ER one night because I thought something happened with my body. But they always say I'm alright, I guess that's where I learned that I was actually experiencing an Anxiety Attack.

Thank God I hardly get them now, but sometimes my feet still got cold all of a sudden and whenever I started to stressed out I just grab this Stress Relief roll-on and glide it on my temple and nape of the neck as instructed in the bottle, and everything will be okay. I will start to loosen up and even forget about the cold feet.

This thing is also very useful during work. Sometimes if I got a load of articles to write with a very short deadline I stressed out. And it would turn me into this Lady Gaga slash Sue Sylvester from Glee - which translate to: crazy b**ch with a really bad temperament (poor hubs).
But not with this Stress Relief on hand! I just apply it on the temple and the back of my hands, it would relax me a bit because this stress relieving blend of essential oil is packed with anxiolytic properties that has relaxing effect.

I say: thumbs up for this Stress Relief product. I never leave home without it now.

And as for the Peppermint Lip Balm, well what can I say? It's minty, it moisturize my lips and it's not greasy or leave residue on my lips. It's also contain No artificial fragrances or preservatives and Non-Toxic! So if you're looking for a good minty lip balm then this should be your choice.

Aside from the two items above they also have so many other great products there, they have products in gift sets too, so you can try many items at once or you could send it to someone you care about. Take a look at this Essential Wellness Kit for example:

This Essential Gift Set is a must have for any first aid kit. It includes a 10ml roll-on of HeadBalm, 5ml Cold & Sinus essential oil blend, a 5ml First Aid essential oil blend and a tube of Peppermint Lip Balm.

Aromatic Health have four line of products:
  • AROMATHERAPEUTIC: geared towards personal health and to aid in healing common ailments. (the Stress Relief I got is from this line)
  • MOTHER & CHILD: developed for mothers and their children, to aid with both pre and post childbirth.

Their products are also cruelty free and do not contain synthetic fragrances, parabens, petrochemicals or preservatives. They also use a minimal amount of packaging and promote the recycling or the re-use of their jars and bottles. GREEN LIVING to the max!

Party Planner: Beach themed party

Saturday, May 15, 2010

This Sunday, May 16th is my hubby's Bday!
He's turning 32 so there's no reason to throw a birthday party anymore ;p But I still like to make one virtual bday party for him ^o^ I asked my hubby what would he like for the theme of his virtual imaginary party that would be part of my routine Imaginary Party Planner posts here in this blog, and he said "beach party. whatever" -- thanks honey, despite the lack of enthusiasm ;p
Anyway, beach party it is! ;)

I did these kind of posts because I love to imagine myself as a party planner, and I also hope that these imaginary party planner posts would somehow be useful for me as well as for you as inspirations for our own parties :) So, let's start, shall we?

I collected these pictures from various websites, all of the pics are linked to it's original source so if you want to know more about an item just click the pics and it will take you straightly to the web source.

THE INVITATION:

From the invitation people would know that it's a beach themed party.
For hubby's invitation I would order these with blue or green slippers photo instead of pink.

THE DECOR SETTING:
The beach birthday party will be held outdoor on the lawn.
I will put a long table right on the grass, more or less like this:

But unlike the pic above I will put a lot of chairs around the wooden table, chairs would be covered in sand-colored flowy fabric, adorned with this small sized shell wreath at the back of the chair.

A cute little tin used as a flower pot, held with colorful ribbons around the garden area.

Assorted flower strings to decorate the surroundings.

And a shell light string to set the ambiance.

Aside from the main long table & chair set, don't forget to also decor the other seating area with colorful pillows.

THE TABLE DECORATIONS:

Placecard holder so everyone knows where to sit.

Pretty flowers set in a deep blue glass as table decorations.

These light-house tealight holders are also for the main table decoration.

And here's the table cloth:

with matching napkins:

And plates:

All are from http://partybox.co.uk

The drinks are served in these starfish embossed tall glasses and shell coasters.

And this is the drink:

cooling sangria!

THE FOOD:
I think serving many kinds of finger food will be great for outdoor beach theme party, so it won't be too messy. Like these assorted finger sandwiches:

Salad and pita bread:

And this stuffed paprika:

And some cakes for dessert:

Aside from the main eating area there is also a side table that holds fresh cool softdrinks, cakes, cookies, and sweet stuffs. To bring out the theme I'd dress it up with raffia skirt like this:

What's on the top of the Luau style side table above:

Cute inflatable can cooler to keep the softdrinks cool.

And some food for the sweet tooth:

Guests can grab a pail of their own. This mini pail is filled with assorted bean candies!

Nowadays, it's all about pretty cupcakes!

Assorted cookies and cakes:

And THE CAKE:

No party would be complete without a cake!

And last but not least, the PARTY FAVOR BAGS:
This time it's different, everyone will take their own pail on the way out and then they will fill the pail with the assorted party favors that already served in the small table near the way out.
These are the mini pails that everyone will get:

Inside it is a thank you tags with beach themed graphics:

And then they can fill their pail with these favor bags on their own:

Sea creatures matches

Beach themed assorted lollipops.

ocean breeze candle in mini pail

shell soaps packed in clear plastic bag and a little bow.

And a special personalized unique plastic glass:

And now the party is over!
Did you have fun?
Would you come to my next party?
^0^

Do you like Limoges Porcelain too?

Wednesday, May 12, 2010

If you read my blog regularly you must know that I'm into interior design, I love putting decorative items in a room. I like decorative things like limoges porcelain boxes. Do you know limoges? Limoges is hard paste porcelain that is produced in Limoges, a city in France.

French Limoges porcelain hinged boxes appeared in the early 19th century and soon became a notable collectible item amongst some of the rich people and the most discerning jewelry collectors of the time. People would often buy the Limoges hinged boxes to safely keep precious items such as gold, rings, diamonds, love letters and other valuable items inside it.
What I love about limoges porcelain is the pretty and very detailed decorations on it. Each French Limoges porcelain box was hand painted and decorated with details suiting different needs, for example: wedding themed porcelain box for wedding gift or engagement ring. People used to gift these boxes on various occasions and the manufacturers produced the Limoges porcelain boxes with various themes to suit the needs. They were usually gifted on weddings, birthdays, Christmas and other special occasions.

Here are some of my favorite Limoges Boxes from Limoges Factory:

Fashion edition ^__^ LOVE this! :

These would be perfect for my mom who loves gardening ^o^ :

And they have Cat Figurines too! Check out these really cute kitties:

Aren't they a cutie or what? I love limoges porcelain. If it weren't so expensive I would've collected it ^o^
